MV & HV Capacitor banks are installed at substation and big industries connected in parallel to the system in order to provide reactive power and main power factor. They are provided with tuned or detuned reactors to mitigate the harmonics present in system. 11 kV and 33 kV Capacitor banks are either star (Single Star or Double Star) with unbalance protection of Voltage or Current using RVT or NCT or delta connected.
